Yahoo Predicts Decline in Bluetooth Headset Sales

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

According to an article on Yahoo.com’s Technology site, Bluetooth headsets will not be enjoying a holiday boost this year. In fact, Yahoo predicts that this gadget is on the outs - stating that the Bluetooth headset is frivolous, unnecessary, and silly-looking. Well, maybe, Yahoo, but I don’t think I’m quite in agreement with you. Here’s why we think Bluetooth headsets will see a surge in sales this holiday season!

1. They’re small.
Small things are easier to gift. If you’re mailing it, there’s less postage to pay. If you’re wrapping it, there’s less giftwrap to buy. And if you’re traveling with it, it takes up less room in your baggage.

2. They’re relatively inexpensive.
You can buy a Bluetooth headset without a plan or any strings attached. Most phones today are compatible with Bluetooth products, if not stereo Bluetooth (Stereo Bluetooth products require A2DP equipped cell phones to utilize their full ability) so compatibility isn’t an issue.

3. They are much-hyped.
With the plethora of hands-free laws falling into place around the nation and the increasing necessity of staying constantly connected, Bluetooth headsets are getting lots of exposure. People know what they are and how to use them, and many insist they are a necessity, or at least a great convenience.

4. They are for everyone.
Regardless of who you are looking to give a gift to, Bluetooth headsets work. Whether it’s a young, busy, new-professional who is always on the go, or a grandma who needs to drive an hour to see her family and you want her to be safe, a Bluetooth headset will help keep those you love safe and connected at the same time.

Pretty, Practical Headsets

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

With the variety of Bluetooth headsets now available, one can pick and choose not only based on their needs, but also based on their style. The newest headsets come in a variety of colors, with carefully-designed exteriors, designed for the equally fashion-conscious and social-conscious.

There’s no denying that the NoiseAssassin technology of the Jawbone 2 is a groundbreaking, practical feature of this very useful product. With hands-free laws multiplying, it is important to make sure your headset is not going to let you down, and Jawbone accomplishes this with their second headset. However, it doesn’t hurt to have a little style with all that function, and it seems that Jawbone has cornered the market on this side of things as well. With a variety of colors - metallic gold, metallic silver, and matte black - this headset will fit whatever style you’re sporting. While we’ll have to wait a while for the two metallic options, the matte black has a textured external plate, adding interest to the sleek all-black look that will fit most styles, while providing the hands-free service you need.

This jewel of a headset does not disappoint. Plantronic’s newest headset is extremely lightweight and at the top end of the spectrum when it comes to high-end Bluetooth headsets. The somewhat atypical VFrame shape and variety of colors make this Bluetooth the ultimate piece of jewelry. Small enough (and cute enough) to comfortably wear in your ear all day, this headset comes with a rechargeable battery and carrying case, keeping you connected even when on the go. The stylish simplicity of this productivity-packed headset will have you raving in no time.

The BlueAnt z9i is the least expensive of the headsets in this feature, but sacrifices little on productivity and style. With two colors to choose from, and a smooth, sleek outer shell, the appearance of this headset may be my favorite. Extra-tiny at .68 inches tall and 1.61 inches long, this headset tucks inconspicuously into your ear for comfortable wear. The only button on the headset is a small, silver, BlueAnt-logo-clad square used to answer and place calls with just a touch. The BlueAnt z9i also comes with a clip used to attach your headset to a shirt or bag when not in use, although with the Voice Isolation technology, lightweight design, and fashionable smooth appearance, I’m not sure why you would ever want to take it off.
