GPS Navigation System to Guide You Home

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Do you often find yourself getting lost?  Not just down the good ‘ol path of life, but lost in the streets.  Or how about printing out those Google Maps that are hard to hold, read and drive all at one time.  Getting from place to place can be tricky, so make it an easier process with an easy-to-use GPS navigation system.

 A Little GPS Story

About two months ago I made the trek from Madison, Wis., to Atlanta, Ga.  I went through Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and finally found my way into Georgia after 14 long hours.  But nothing made this trip better than my little companion … my Garmin Nuvi 260W.  As soon as I pulled out of my driveway in Wisconsin to the time I arrived in Atlanta, my GPS system guided me seamlessly and efficiently to my destination.  I didn’t have to print out pages of maps and carry with me atlas upon atlas, all I needed to do was type in my “final destination” and my GPS system showed me my expected arrival time as well as turn-by-turn directions.  Check out some of Gammoth’s GPS Navigation Systems that will allow you to drive with ease and arrive on time.

Gammoth and GPS … They Just Go Together

Monday, April 14th, 2008

This might sound weird, but I have the tendency to look into other people’s cars while I am driving down the road.  Many times I see someone jabbing away on their cell phone, eating their lunch or even brushing their teeth.  But lately, I have been seeing people driving around with a GPS navigation system mounted to their windshield and they are following turn-by-turn directions to get where they need to go.  These people aren’t confused on which street to turn on (Main Street or Elm Street?) because their GPS system is talking to them and giving them the exact directions they need to get to their final destination.

Why GPS?

Many people have asked me what a GPS system can do for them.  And as I think about it, there are so many great features on all of the GPS systems that we offer, that it is hard to narrow it down to a few.  But of course I am going to try to do that … here is a list of the basic features that most of our GPS systems offer.  To find more details, check out Gammoth’s GPS Car Units on our main site.

GPS — Even in the Air

As many people use their GPS systems in their car and for turn-by-turn directions, I’ve also heard of people who like to take their portable GPS system with them while in flight.  This way they can see what state they are flying over, how fast they are going (GPS hits 500+ MPH!) and other cool features.  No matter where you go or how you go, a Garmin GPS unit can take you there.

Garmin StreetPilot c550

Overall Gammoth Rating:  8.6 out of 10

Reviewed by:  Amber Haack

The Good:

·         Easy-to-use

·         Many features

·         Bluetooth enabled

·         Great for car use

The Bad

·         Small, but somewhat bulky for travel

·         Takes some extra time to acquire a signal

The Garmin StreetPilot c550 is a great navigation system in the GPS world.  With its accurate directions and easy to follow map, it is top-notch among GPS systems.   The StreetPilot c550 offers many features that include locating nearby restaurants, gas stations, shopping areas and entertainment options.  It is also compatible with Bluetooth technology and can be used as an MP3 player with over 700 MB of song storage.  This Garmin also has traffic features that allow you to avoid heavy traffic and will automatically re-route your trip to make sure you will miss the delays.  Once the StreetPilot c550 was initially turned on, it took some time acquiring a signal but once the system was running, it was flawless.  It was somewhat bulky to carry around for GPS purposes, but for car use, the StreetPilot c550 worked great.  The car mount that is provided can easily be transferred to different vehicles without any problems.  This GPS system definitely directed me where I needed to go and it did so in the most time efficient manner.  Overall, I think the StreetPilot c550 is a sound choice for GPS navigation.
