Gammoth Gives Back

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Continuing on with our “Getting to Know Gammoth” theme from last week with Sydney’s (our Gammoth mascot) video, we want to let you know that we do more than just sell cell phone accessories, Bluetooth products, GPS navigation and signal solutions … we also give back to the community.  And although we are located in Madison, Wis., we strive to give back to communities throughout the country.

 Gammoth Gives Back

At the beginning of this year Gammoth wanted to “give back” to students in area schools.  Gammoth contacted the Web site DonorsChoose.org where the concept is “Teachers ask.  You choose.  Students learn.”  Mrs. Y, a teacher at an elementary school in Wisconsin, asked for the funding of the “GPS, Where Art Thou?” project so her students could learn latitude, longitude, mapping skills and directionality.  Gammoth wanted to help … especially because it involved something we love — GPS!

The Outcome

We recently received a “Thank You” letter from many students at the elementary school along with their very special teacher Mrs. Y, who is trying to teach her students real life lessons with up-to-date technology that they will most certainly carry with them for the rest of their lives.  Gammoth is proud to be involved in fulfilling Mrs. Y’s request for her classroom project “GPS, Where Art Thou?” and will continue to give back to communities through the country.

Gammoth Gets Personal

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

As Gammoth has been up and running for some time now, we realized we haven’t let our favorite people (you of course!) get to see the “other side” of Gammoth.  We want to let you in and get to know us … because we want to know you too.  This is our first step in doing this, and I think this might be a hit!  For quite some time, we have had a four-legged creature roaming around Gammoth.  This four-legged creature is Sydney, Gammoth’s Mascot. She is a very fun and friendly pup and she often hangs around the office to make sure all of us Gammoth employee’s are staying on track.  She does her daily rounds and gives us a high-five when we are doing good … and a stinker when we need to pick it up!  This first piece on “Gammoth Gets Personal” is dedicated to Sydney because today is her birthday and we are celebrating on her behalf.

A little background…
In Sydney’s early days, she wasn’t as calm and controlled as she is now (since she is a big one-year-old!) She tended to be a little rough with her toys, chew on everything in sight and had a crazy amount of energy.  One fine day in the summer of 2007 Sydney decided to get in a fight.  And it wasn’t just any fight … she brought out her claws, her hair stood on end and she tossed the opponent around quite a bit. The opponent you ask?  A wicked grape.

The Winner Is …

Which featherweight will give a punch and call the KO victory?  Watch and see …
