Yahoo Predicts Decline in Bluetooth Headset Sales

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

According to an article on Yahoo.com’s Technology site, Bluetooth headsets will not be enjoying a holiday boost this year. In fact, Yahoo predicts that this gadget is on the outs - stating that the Bluetooth headset is frivolous, unnecessary, and silly-looking. Well, maybe, Yahoo, but I don’t think I’m quite in agreement with you. Here’s why we think Bluetooth headsets will see a surge in sales this holiday season!

1. They’re small.
Small things are easier to gift. If you’re mailing it, there’s less postage to pay. If you’re wrapping it, there’s less giftwrap to buy. And if you’re traveling with it, it takes up less room in your baggage.

2. They’re relatively inexpensive.
You can buy a Bluetooth headset without a plan or any strings attached. Most phones today are compatible with Bluetooth products, if not stereo Bluetooth (Stereo Bluetooth products require A2DP equipped cell phones to utilize their full ability) so compatibility isn’t an issue.

3. They are much-hyped.
With the plethora of hands-free laws falling into place around the nation and the increasing necessity of staying constantly connected, Bluetooth headsets are getting lots of exposure. People know what they are and how to use them, and many insist they are a necessity, or at least a great convenience.

4. They are for everyone.
Regardless of who you are looking to give a gift to, Bluetooth headsets work. Whether it’s a young, busy, new-professional who is always on the go, or a grandma who needs to drive an hour to see her family and you want her to be safe, a Bluetooth headset will help keep those you love safe and connected at the same time.

Bluetooth Headsets - the perfect gift for everyone on your list!

BlueAnt V1: COMING SOON!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

BlueAnt Wireless was awarded LAPTOP Magazine’s “Best of CTIA Wireless 2008″ with the “Best Cell Phone Accessory” for their ‘V1′ Voice Controlled Bluetooth Headset.  These awards are generally given to products that represent the future of wireless technology with cutting edge design.

BlueAnt V1 Bluetooth Headset

A Look at the BlueAnt V1

BlueAnt has always provided top-of-the-line products and the BlueAnt V1 is nothing to shake a stick at … it is absolutely the future of Bluetooth headsets.  This little headset has “BlueGenie Voice Interface” from Sensory, Inc., that essentially is your “little friend.”  You can ask it for assistance and it will guide you to the right command.  The ‘V1′ eliminates combinations of button pushes, holds and flashing lights with its SINGLE activation button that provides the user with control of the ‘V1′ through the voice commands.

According to a BlueAnt Wireless press release, the “‘BlueGenie Voice Interface’ uses advanced Voice Recognition and Voice Synthesis technology to allow users to easily control the functions of their headset using their voice interface.”  Also included will be dual microphones that will use BlueAnt’s Voice Isolation Technolgy, a revolutionary Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software solution.  This technology will extract the user’s voice signal from other sounds and enhance the quality and sound of it.  Some may say the BlueAnt V1 an upgrade to the Jawbone and is better looking Jawbone (even though the Jawbone 2 will be released soon!), but this BlueAnt V1 headset really is special with its voice recognition features.

Features List for BlueAnt V1 (From BlueAnt’s Press Release)

  • Voice control usiing the “BlueGenie Voice Interface”
  • Dual microphones for pure speech
  • Voice Isolation Technology for extreme noise, wind and echo cancellation
  • Bluetooth v2.1
  • Multi-point technology — connects two phones at once allowing you to answer the phone that rings
  • Incorporates ‘Voice Isolation’ Standard & Max settings adjustable to surrounding loud environments
  • Multi-function car & desk charger
  • USB charger
  • Innovative tie clip for attaching to shirt or cuff, when not in use
  • Inner ear & outer ear speaker gels
  • Small and lightweight
  • Up to 6 hours of talk-time or 200 hours of standby time

So … When Can We Get One?

We all want to get our hands on this innovative little headset so we can talk to an automated voice rather than talking to ourselves.  And you can expect the official release of the BlueAnt V1 within the next couple of weeks.  You know Gammoth will be the first to have it … and we’ll make sure that you know about it.  Until then, all we can do is imagine what that little voice in our head will sound like ….
