With Apple releasing the new iPhone 3G on July 11, many people have been anticipating the pricing plan for the 8GB and 16GB iPhone. The pricing plan doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as new customers can grab the 8GB iPhone for $199 and 16GB iPhone for $299. Of course, that is for new customers only who sign up for a two year contract. Service providers always find a way to get you, don’t they?
- iPhone 3G Pricing Details
Here is the breakdown of the pricing plans for AT&T’s Apple iPhone 3G. Try your best to follow …
- For newcomers (+ 2 year contract): 8GB = $199; 16GB = $299
For early upgrade ( + 2 year contract and $18 upgrade charge): 8GB = $399; 16GB = $499
- For people who want an iPhone 3G and NO contract: 8GB = $599; 16GB = $699
iPhone 3G … Will It Be Huge?
Of course AT&T will sneak data and texting charges, but I think the iPhone 3G may be worth it. And while I think Apple and AT&T will both boom from the release of this product, I don’t think it will be as successful as it could be. With the economy in a slump, people may not be as willing to splurge on the dazzling iPhone 3G, but I don’t think the situation with the economy will have a noticeable effect on iPhone sales. Apple’s solid reputation and innovative products will be the force behind the sales of the new iPhone 3G on July 11.
