I know I am hammering this idea pretty hard, but I am a firm believer in Bluetooth technology. Some would say I am actually a “newbie” to this type of technology, but has it ever made a difference in my life. I am a person who likes to multi-task because I like to make the most out of every second. So if I am in my car driving, why couldn’t I be doing more? Well that is where the tricky part comes in … you see many people are big “multi-taskers” too. And although this is great, all of us aspiring “do-it-all” people need to step out of the situation and look at what we’re doing. For the longest time I used a handheld cell phone while I drove. I talked on it to catch up with people since I never had any other time to do it … my car essentially was my “mobile catch up room.” After doing this for a while, I snapped back to reality to realize that what I was doing was dangerous … not only to myself, but to others as well. That’s why I started using the BlueAnt Supertooth Light. I am not a huge fan of the Bluetooth earpiece just because I would rather not wear a headset, but I do love this Bluetooth speaker because it clips right on my visor and away I go.
The Argument Against Bluetooth
“Well what about eating and driving?”
“How about you kick all the passengers out of the vehicle too?”
And as those ideas may be valid, we need to understand what is realistic and beneficial to society as a whole. Using Bluetooth technology seems to have a better effect on drivers and accidents as a whole. Sure, it won’t solve all accidents, but if it does help decrease the number of people injured in an accident because of cell phone use, I think it is worth a shot.

What Can Blue Do For You?
I know that this whole Bluetooth thing may seem unnecessary to some, but in all reality, I’m just asking you to think about it. There are many laws now in place banning cell phone use while driving. California’s is the most rescent state to enact a cell phone driving ban that begins July, 1, 2008, and a lot of people are going to need to make the transition to Bluetooth devices. If you don’t have a cell phone in one hand because you are using a Bluetooth device, that typically means that you have two hands on the wheel. Since when has that been a bad thing? In my opinion, Bluetooth can only help. Of course there will be devil’s advocates, but I’ve always tried to live by the idea “I’d rather be safe than sorry” …
