Cheap Unlocked Cell Phones

Unlocked cell phones  seem to be the new trend in the U.S.  And why wouldn’t they be?  You can take these special GSM phones anywhere and all you have to do is plug in a SIM card and away you go.  So as many people are looking for an Unlocked BlackBerry and an Unlocked Apple iPhone I have another, rather simple, option for you:  Buy a cheap unlocked cell phone.  And while you may say, “I am not going for cheap,” then you just have to weigh out your wants versus your needs.

Think of it this way.  If you are travelling overseas for a business trip and just need a simple, basic phone to use while you are abroad, then why not buy a cheap unlocked cell phone?  Are you really ever going to use it again?  It is essentially a “quick fix” because you can buy this phone and slip a SIM card in it, no service plan attached, and away you go.  Literally.  If you lose it, it won’t be a big deal.  If you damage it, oh well.  Now if you are a frequent traveler and you travel from country to country for months and months, then yes, I would agree that maybe you want to invest in something a little more substantial such as an Unlocked Palm Centro or even an Unlocked Samsung Blackjack II.  But if you are travelling to Europe for your summer vacation for a mere two or three weeks, then a cheap unlocked cell phone will do you justice.

It has a four-way navigation button in between the display and the keypad with a joystick in the middle of navigation.  The screen has a 101×80 pixel, 512-color display, which is sufficient for the average user.  As for features, you can store up to 250 contacts in the internal phone book and add you can add 250 more names to the SIM card, which is nice for the unlocked phone.  This phone has the typical organizer with the standard features of calendar, alarm clock and calculator.  The plus side of the Unlocked Sony Ericsson T226 is that it takes call blocking a step further.  You can choose to receive calls from certain numbers AND certain groups.  If a number is not in the list, it will automatically get rejected by a busy tone.
