Gammoth Gets Personal

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

As Gammoth has been up and running for some time now, we realized we haven’t let our favorite people (you of course!) get to see the “other side” of Gammoth.  We want to let you in and get to know us … because we want to know you too.  This is our first step in doing this, and I think this might be a hit!  For quite some time, we have had a four-legged creature roaming around Gammoth.  This four-legged creature is Sydney, Gammoth’s Mascot. She is a very fun and friendly pup and she often hangs around the office to make sure all of us Gammoth employee’s are staying on track.  She does her daily rounds and gives us a high-five when we are doing good … and a stinker when we need to pick it up!  This first piece on “Gammoth Gets Personal” is dedicated to Sydney because today is her birthday and we are celebrating on her behalf.

A little background…
In Sydney’s early days, she wasn’t as calm and controlled as she is now (since she is a big one-year-old!) She tended to be a little rough with her toys, chew on everything in sight and had a crazy amount of energy.  One fine day in the summer of 2007 Sydney decided to get in a fight.  And it wasn’t just any fight … she brought out her claws, her hair stood on end and she tossed the opponent around quite a bit. The opponent you ask?  A wicked grape.

The Winner Is …

Which featherweight will give a punch and call the KO victory?  Watch and see …

Cheap Unlocked Cell Phones

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Unlocked cell phones  seem to be the new trend in the U.S.  And why wouldn’t they be?  You can take these special GSM phones anywhere and all you have to do is plug in a SIM card and away you go.  So as many people are looking for an Unlocked BlackBerry and an Unlocked Apple iPhone I have another, rather simple, option for you:  Buy a cheap unlocked cell phone.  And while you may say, “I am not going for cheap,” then you just have to weigh out your wants versus your needs.

Think of it this way.  If you are travelling overseas for a business trip and just need a simple, basic phone to use while you are abroad, then why not buy a cheap unlocked cell phone?  Are you really ever going to use it again?  It is essentially a “quick fix” because you can buy this phone and slip a SIM card in it, no service plan attached, and away you go.  Literally.  If you lose it, it won’t be a big deal.  If you damage it, oh well.  Now if you are a frequent traveler and you travel from country to country for months and months, then yes, I would agree that maybe you want to invest in something a little more substantial such as an Unlocked Palm Centro or even an Unlocked Samsung Blackjack II.  But if you are travelling to Europe for your summer vacation for a mere two or three weeks, then a cheap unlocked cell phone will do you justice.

Cheap Unlocked Cell Phone Options

Gammoth just brought aboard two new options for cheap unlocked cell phones.  Depending on what you are searching for, both phones are a good deal and will get the job done.  Check out the information below on each phone.

Unlocked Samsung A117 ($99.99)    Unlocked Samsung A117

If you’re looking for an easy-to-use GSM phone without too many features, this is the phone for you. The Unlocked Samsung A117 weighs a mere 2.86 oz. with small demensions (3.39×1.67x.76 inches). It also has a stylish and handy “flip” makes this unlocked phone practical for many “on-the-go” people. This phone can store up to 300 phone numbers and has internet capabilities available. It also comes with an 800 mAh lithium Ion battery that provides 5 hours of talk time and 10 days of standby time.

Unlocked Sony Ericsson T226 ($59.99)    Unlocked Sony Ericsson T226

The Unlocked Sony Ericsson T226 is the perfect cell phone for someone who doesn’t need all the “extras.”  This unlocked phone has a boxy design with a pacific blue color scheme and dark blue trim, giving the device a fresh look.  The Unlocked Sony Ericcson T226 is small and thin, measuring at only 3.9 inches tall by 1.7 inches wide by .7 inch deep. It weighs in an extremely light at just 2.8 ounces making it very easy to carry in a pocket or a small bag. It has a four-way navigation button in between the display and the keypad with a joystick in the middle of navigation.  The screen has a 101×80 pixel, 512-color display, which is sufficient for the average user.  As for features, you can store up to 250 contacts in the internal phone book and add you can add 250 more names to the SIM card, which is nice for the unlocked phone.  This phone has the typical organizer with the standard features of calendar, alarm clock and calculator.  The plus side of the Unlocked Sony Ericsson T226 is that it takes call blocking a step further.  You can choose to receive calls from certain numbers AND certain groups.  If a number is not in the list, it will automatically get rejected by a busy tone.
